Hallo! Is there already a python implementation of the adaptive simulated annealing optimization algorithm (maybe a wrapper to the following C library: http://www.ingber.com/ASA-README.html) ? I did quite some google search and did not find something - so any hint is very much appreciated ! Thanks, LG Georg

I had did the search as well (about searching global minimum software with python interface enable). All I had found were some obsolete packages, + one more with very complicated documentation (IIRC particle swarm simulation based). As for scipy anneal, I had informed it doesn't work properly but noone answered http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.scientific.user/13553/match=annea... and I have no time for now to search and fix the bug(s) by myself Regards, D

It's been a while, but I remember ASA having a fairly straightforward interface (set up one big config structure, then call one or two functions). The 'asamin' matlab wrapper isn't much code at all, and the guy that wrote that didn't have SWIG. :) I doubt you will find many simmulated annealing packages better or more featured than ASA, so I'd suggest taking a stab at wrapping it yourself. http://www.igi.tugraz.at/lehre/MLA/WS01/asamin.html (for reference) http://www.swig.org/ Georg Holzmann wrote:

Please keep the list apprised of your efforts. Thank you, Alan Isaac
