I can be a mentor too, but I'll probably be mentoring some SymPy projects. We can try to apply as an organization, but I don't think we can be accepted easily, I am almost sure we won't be accepted. However at least we should encourage students to apply as part of PSF and other orgs.
Yes, I was thinking on applying via PSF, like you did with the SymPy projects last year, not on a direct application.
If the application is strong enough, sure it will be accepted. But be prepared that the competition is strong and you need to persuade people from the mentor organization why the application should be accepted. Students can also apply as part of the SciPy project.
That is true. BTW. the term 'student' involves even PhD. students. Anyone here? :)
I could mentor you, but then you could not mentor yourself, bad luck...
Anyway the documentation and overall presentation still need a good deal of work before we could hope to get other people interested. So we probably miss this year, but I posted the info here just in case.
