I think we could use some support for our development.
I can be a mentor too, but I'll probably be mentoring some SymPy projects. We can try to apply as an organization, but I don't think we can be accepted easily, I am almost sure we won't be accepted. However at least we should encourage students to apply as part of PSF and other orgs.
If the application is strong enough, sure it will be accepted. But be prepared that the competition is strong and you need to persuade people from the mentor organization why the application should be accepted. Students can also apply as part of the SciPy project.
