spambayes quit working and won't reinstall

I am running Outlook 2003 and had Spambayes running fine. All of a sudden it quit working. I have read the trouble shooting manual and nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled Spambayes and reinstalled several times. The log file says it is registered. When I go to the Advanced options/Comm Addinns dialog Spambay show in the list but unchecked. I check it and then restart Outlook. No Spambayes. The addin dialog then shows it unchecked again. Right now I don’t have any other ideas about what to try. As far as I know, SpamBayes does no contention management (locking) on its databases. As a result, there's no robust way to share a database among multiple processes. So I think that even if you solve the current problem, you won't be able to get this approach to work. If you need to filter mail for multiple users with a single database, you'll probably need to set up server-side filtering, so only one process uses the database. Personally, I think the individualized nature of the database is one of SpamBayes' greatest assets. One man's ham is another's spam. Undo Delete as Spam Sender

I'm not sure what version I have, I couldn't find it under the About section. I downloaded it in Jun 2005, if that helps I need to undo selecting a sender into "delete as spam" I had them selected and hit the wrong button. Thank YOU

new Kmail feature

I've just installed KDE 3.5 rc1 on my Fedora Core box. While going through the settings in Kmail, I activated the antispam wizard. The first thing it does is search for antispam software on the computer. It found Spambayes, and gave me some configuration options, mostly involving where to put detected spam and where to put unsure. Once I'd done that, a couple of icons appeared in the menu bar, one for classify as spam and one for classify as ham. If I tell it to classify some message as spam, the message is immediately removed from the folder and sent to trash. I'm wondering if this has been implemented in conjunction with the Spambayes team - that's one question. The second is more regarding how this works. If any one knows - if I click on the classify as spam icon in the toolbar, does that classification get processed into my spambayes database? -- Claude Jones Bluemont, VA, USA

Hi, Perhaps this is an old question ... During training the "modified date" is set to the "training date" and the archiving is postponed. How can I prevent this? TIA Willy --- avast! 'Recover From Spam' Option in Menu?

Hi, I have recently reinstalled Spambayes onto my new laptop computer, XP Home. The filter is working fine, but in the menu for Spambayes, I do not see the option, Recover From Spam, as it was in the version I used on my other laptop (the previous version). Is that no longer an option with this latest version, or do I add it someplace in the Manager? Thank you!! Random "drags" can wreak a lot of havoc in Outlook. Maybe she's managed to push the Spambayes toolbar out of the visible part of the window. I guess that's consistent with the fact that reinstalling doesn't help. Presumably the second installation would simply overwrite the previous toolbar in place. If the old one wasn't visible, the new one wouldn't be either. Don't laugh; I've seen stranger things in my 45 years in this game!
