spambayes quit working and won't reinstall

I am running Outlook 2003 and had Spambayes running fine. All of a sudden it quit working. I have read the trouble shooting manual and nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled Spambayes and reinstalled several times. The log file says it is registered. When I go to the Advanced options/Comm Addinns dialog Spambay show in the list but unchecked. I check it and then restart Outlook. No Spambayes. The addin dialog then shows it unchecked again. Right now I don’t have any other ideas about what to try. As far as I know, SpamBayes does no contention management (locking) on its databases. As a result, there's no robust way to share a database among multiple processes. So I think that even if you solve the current problem, you won't be able to get this approach to work. If you need to filter mail for multiple users with a single database, you'll probably need to set up server-side filtering, so only one process uses the database. Personally, I think the individualized nature of the database is one of SpamBayes' greatest assets. One man's ham is another's spam. Question relating to Microsoft Plug-in

Hello: Is there a way to control the order in which SpamBayes processes incoming messages vs. . when my Outlook rules process a message? Ideally I would like to guarantee my Outlook rules process incoming messages prior to SpamBayes. I have set the delay to 10 secs on SpamBayes, but this does not always appear to work. Thanks - Ken

Problem with Web Interface Advanced Configuration

Hi. I have just upgraded to Spambayes 1.1a1 POP3 Proxy. The OS is SuSE Linux 9.3. I have a problem. The Advanced Configuration feature of the Web Interface will not permit me to enter multiple private IPs in the Allowed Remote UI Connections. The same is the case for the Allowed Remote POP3 connections. I have explicitly followed the instructions to separate the IPs with commas. I receive an error message back. In this error message ALL of the IPs are put together into one string that is bound with a apostrophe (single quote character) on each end. The string is followed with "is not a valid value for [Interface Options] . . . " Has anyone hit this? What's the fix? Also, I have removed the new hammie.db, etc. from the the 1.1a1 files that I extracted from the Gzipped TAR ball and replaced with the existing hammie.db from the original installation and was disappointed to see that the application does not realize that the database includes over 15K trained messages. How do I pump the .db folders through the training filters for the new version to "bring it up to speed" right away? Thanks Mike

Also I neglected to note that the wildcard option (eg 192.168.1.*) does not work in my installation. Mike

That's a much requested feature that is unfortunately difficult to implement due to OE's limitations, though some steps are being taken to simplify installation with OE.
