Hello, after installing spambayes i created two folders. One for Spam and one for unsure mails. After a few days and lots of messages later i wanted to clear my Unsure-folder and unfortunately deleted the hole folder. After that i restarted outlook ,i saw two incoming mails which were going straight into that cleared Unsurefolder. Now i wanna know is there a way to recover that folder ´cos i need that two mails and spam bayes puts them where once was that Unsurefolder. Hopefully you understand my problem. Thanx malz

Outllok diables images in the Junk folder -- I think that it would be a good idea to have Spam Bayes do the same in the "suspect" folder. Outlook Addin and CommuniGate MAPI Connector Conflict

Hi list, Following from the "Spambayes crashes my Outlook" thread, I thought I would post more details on my experience with a similar Outlook crash / crippled Outlook issue which I was able to workaround with a small change in source. This problem occurs in Outlook 2000 and 2003 (maybe others), with CommuniGate MAPI Intel 1.2.1, 1.2.2 Problem: SpamBayes' logic on startup of the configuration wizard is to loop through all entries in the Message Stores Table, then ask each one for a receive folder (ie Inbox). The Communigate MAPI connector returns multiple entries from this call, the first of which responds with the proper "Inbox" folder when asked for the Receive Folder. It then causes an access violation when the next store entry is asked for it's Receive Folder. Not sure why a second store entry even exists. Workaround: Modify a single line of code to eliminate the multi-store loop. The assumption here is that you only need one store (probably true if you're running a CommuniGate server). Source file: spambayes/Outlook2000/msgstore.py In the YieldReceiveFolders function, comment out the "for row in rows:" line and replace with "if True:" Thanks to the well written code by the contributors, and good development documentation, this did not take long to find, modify, and re-package for our internal needs. If someone is so inclined to work a permanent solution around this such as an installation option to only allow a single message store, or to coach me on how to do this quickly, it may help others with other similar Outlook environment issues. thanks, Roland;

Hiya, If you go to your Outlook 2003 -> [Tools] -> [E-mail Accounts] -> [View or Change Existing E-mail Accounts] and list the name and type of each. Then the same for [View or change existing directories or address books]. List name and type of each. It couldn't hurt to paste in the first part of the spambayes1.log in your local temp directory (C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR PROFILE\Local Settings\Temp\spambayes1.log). For me, though, the log was not helpful as the crash happened so early in startup. I think you have exactly the same circumstances that I had because you had to disable the Add-in manually. On startup it has some protection code in there that will automatically disable it, if it detects an error. Because the error I was seeing was caused by an Access Violation (apparently out of process), it did not return a proper exception to SpamBayes and thus left Outlook crippled. I should warn you I'm not a regular contributor -- a SpamBayes hacker at best. I was simply determined to have it work, as the users were already trained on it, it works extremely well, and it's open-source. I've found the source code to be very well written IMHO, and I was able to locate this bug and re-build the setup.exe with the cvs InnoSetup instructions inside of a day. I had a similar problem show up for me, using the CommuniGate MAPI connector. As it turned out, the SpamBayes code where the error was caused appeared to be just fine -- the call out to the MAPI system was returning 2 stores instead of 1 and Outlook would crash each time it tried to access the second store. I modified the SpamBayes source to work around it successfully. I'm not sure if you're inclined to get under the hood of it, but it might help the SpamBayes group to know the details of your Outlook environment. Feature For Spambayes

Hello, A lot of us people using SPAMBAYES are inadvertently deleting our "Junk E-Mail" folders while discarding our Junk E-Mail. Luckily it is easy enough to fix this by going in to the manager and running the wizard. Is there any way to provide a pop up message to ask if you really want to delete the Junk E-Mail folder, and mention that only the E-Mail inside the folder should be deleted. It seems to happen quite a bit, mostly because of habit. Thanks, Spambayes User Otherwise your product is EXCELLENT!!
