Go to the SpamBayes website (http://www.spambayes.org/) and locate the troubleshooting guide for Windows. I might well tell you how to find and delete your database. The usual cause of database corruption is having two programs writing the file at the same time. That shouldn't normally be an issue on Windows. Has it gone blue screen on you recently? There must be some sort of disk checking facility on the box to check the filesystem integrity. Give that a whirl. Skip

Spambayes is crashing

When trying to train, I get an Error 500. The browser is Firefox v. 2.0.0.7. The mail client is The Bat! v. 1.62r (old I know, but SpamBayes has been working with it with no problems, and I wouldn't have thought that it made any difference). The traceback is at the bottom of the message. Any help welcome. Individual DBs for Multiple Outlook Profiles?

Installing SpamBayes 1.1a4 on Outlook 2007 (in WinXP Pro), I see that by default, the same database is used for all Outlook Profiles. How can I set up SpamBayes so that it uses a seperate database for each Outlook Profile? Thanks! aether002(a)cobaltnight.com

AFAIK, any spam filtering done at the Exchange level wouldn't be overridable by a user. The caveat to that is that we're still running an ancient version of Exchange pending our upgrade to 2007 later in the fall. But I'll be surprised if the new version changes that behavior much. BTW, turning off Outlook's filtering is a very good idea, IMO. My experience was that it generated a lot of false positives. I finally turned it off and rely exclusively on Spambayes to mop up what our Barracuda doesn't catch. If you use the IMAP filter, I need a little help

Some people have reported problems with the IMAP filter when it tries to process certain not-terribly-well-formed emails. I haven't been able to reproduce this with the standard Unix SpamBayes filter and I don't use the IMAP filter myself (or have an IMAP server to connect one to). If you use the IMAP filter and would like to help me out, just reply to this message. I'll try forwarding you one or two of the problematic emails I've received. They are spam, but are written in Spanish, so they may well not get scored as spam. They score as spammy-but-not-terribly-so for me. Thanks, Skip

The only way to know for sure is to disable or remove it and anything else that might be adding the prefix. Does SpamBayes 1.0.4 work with Outlook 2003 SP3? My OS is Win XP SP2 Home Edition, SpamBayes 1.0.4 used to work with Outlook 2003 SP2, but not with SP3 since I upgraded.
