Can't get it plug-in to load

I've tried 3 times... once with all my security turned off. It's on my computer because I've used add/remove to REMOVE it 3 times; I've tried re-starting both OE and my computer. Plug in does not appear in my Outlook. I'm running Outlook Express 6 (2004). In your troubleshooting you say: a.. Check that Outlook shows the addin as enabled. 1.. Start Outlook, and select Tools->Options to display the main Options dialog. 2.. Select the tab labeled Other, then click on the Advanced button. 3.. Click on the COM Add-Ins button. 4.. If the SpamBayes addin is not listed, then SpamBayes should be reinstalled (Note that running regsvr32.exe outlook_addin.dll or outlook_addin_register.exe from the SpamBayes directory may also solve this problem). 5.. If the SpamBayes addin is listed but not checked, then simply check it and close the dialog. HOWEVER, I don't have a tab labeled "OTHER"... I have General, Read, Receipts, Send, Compose, Signature, Spelling, Security, Connection and Maintenance. The ONLY tab with an Advance button is Security. No where could I find the "COM Add-Ins" . Our internet provider is Comcast. Any instruction you give me would have to be in the simplest form, i.e. Instructions for Dummies Thanks

Problem with toolbar

Hi, I am using SpamBayes version 1.0.4 on Windows XP Pro. I have desinstall your software and reinstalled it but now I do not see the toolbar, I try to look everywhere to find a way to get it back but with no help. Could you tell me what I did wrong and how to have the toolbar back so I can use again your software? Spambayes issue

Hi, I am running SPAMBAYES Outlook addin Binary version 1.0.4 on Outlook 2000 on OS XP Pro and although the filtering seems to be working when messages arrive the toolbar buttons are not. I have followed both suggestions in the troubleshooting guide, namely deleting the toolbar, and then completely reset all Outlook toolbars, by re-moving the outcmd.data file. This has not solved the problem, so I hoped you may be able to offer me some additional advice. Spambayes stopped working on Outlook 2007 and a Vista Enterprise 64bit AMD

Uninstalled spambayes and downloaded spambayes-1.1a4-070629 from sourceforge. It appears to not to create config files at install nor execute/load the plug-in and leave behind log files. Done the google search and looked thru the FAQs Hopefully I'm missing something obvious. Where's the right place to look for help and What would be my next step? It's a really useful spam filter and I really miss it. Thanks.. ..Carl Nelson

General comment re SpamBayes

Hello, I've used SpamBayes V 1.0.4 with Outlook for several years now, and it works flawlessly. Thank you, thank you, thank you. However, since upgrading my MS Office to 2007 (meaning I am using Outlook 2007) it drives me nuts that I am constantly being notified, via the task bar, that I have "new messages". I've tried to figure out how to get SpamBayes to just *delete* the stuff it identifies as spam, as it's been 100% accurate for so long that many times I just delete all the contents of the spam folder without bothering to check each message. But alas, you've chosen, for whatever reason, to disallow such action. So, I'm going to have to move on. I'm just spending too much time reacting to the 'new messages' notification. I have a small B&B and it's absolutely vital in my business to respond immediately to reservation requests. Just like answering the phone: if you don't do it promptly, potential guests just move on to the next place. So that little icon is important to me. No point in filtering out all the spam if I have to stop what I'm doing every few minutes to go check and see, "Is it real mail? Is it spam?" Sort of defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it..... I'll sure miss your program. It is elegant and functions head-and-shoulders beyond anything else I've tried. Bye, guys. Sandee Wright p.s. Unwanted emails.

I am receiving emails addressed to your organization with my address hooked onto it and I am getting sick of them. My SpamBayes doesn't pick them up because they com from different address and anyway I don't want them as I am sure they will only grow in number as time goes on. Please do something to stop this from happening. I am forwarding the one received today but this is now the second time I have forwarded one with a request to have it stopped. Alan

Outlook no longer filters spam and is giving me two messages: "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook." [PATCH] Keep flags for maildir

Hi, I don't know if spambayes is dead... anyway it's annoying that when it learns a maildir message, it drops all the messages flags (read/replied/trashed/etc). The attached patch fixes it for me. Problem with Suspect Junk Mail

The 'Delete as Spam' and 'Recover From Spam' commands do not work for items in Junk Suspects. I have to drag the items into the appropriate folder in Outlook Shortcuts.
