Win 7 x64, Outlook 2007 Issues

It took a while for me to get a message that actually qualified as spam, but I finally got one - and SpamBayes 1.1a4 did *not* move it upon arrival. As usual, it gave the error message upon Outlook 2007 startup that it couldn't watch the folders. But I went in an enabled it manually. Then the new mail came in, and the spam did not get moved. I confirmed through the Spam Clues that it ranked 96%, but SpamBayes did nothing. It really would appear to be fully broken for Win 7 x64. (It's not broken for Outlook 2007, since that version running on XP was fine).

In addition to the issue of SpamBayes 1.1a4 not starting enabled in Outlook 2007 under Win 7 x64, there are two other issues occuring as well. First of all, if a user is downloading a large number of emails (when I've seen this occur, the user was downloading over 100 messages), SpamBayes will cause Outlook to crash. Rinse and repeat as often as you want, but Outlook will not download the messages without crashing unless SpamBayes is disabled during the message download. Once that's done, you can enable it. If a user only has a modest number of messages coming in, then Outlook does not crash. Secondly, the way emails are being displayed while being parsed is different. Under XP, all the messages downloaded would show up in the Inbox (you could watch them appear a few at a time), and then you could watch as individual ones got plucked out by SpamBayes. But under Win 7 x64, only a single message shows up in the Inbox. All other new messages are completely hidden until SpamBayes is done processing them, at which point they all show up at once. The way messages are showing up under Win 7 x64 is not a good thing. Perhaps it's related to why Outlook crashes if there are a large number of messages downloaded, but these are both issues that need to be resolved.

I am using SpamBayes POP3 Proxy Version 1.04 (March 2005) (binary), with version 2.3.5 (#62, Feb 8 2005, 16:23:02) (MSC v. 1200 32 bit (intel)) of Python; my operating system is windows5.1.2600.2 (service pack 2). I have trained 0 ham and 0 spam. The problem I am having is that the program does not read any massages (or populate the program with) for me to train on. How do I get the e-mail into the spambayes program? Thanks, G.B.

test 1.1a6 release for windows

Hi all, I've built a new version of SpamBayes for Windows. This version should finally have the dreaded DEP problem fixed along with hopefully some other minor issues. It should also prompt for admin permissions which may address some issues with Windows 7. I've tested it with Outlook 2003 - the most recent version I have available. Please try it out and let me know how it goes. If it all goes well I will check in the minor tweaks I made to the source code to have it branded as 1.1a6 and dated March 2010. Hello. I have been using SpamBayes for years, and have found it brilliant. However I have been getting a problem for the past couple of weeks with messages that are clearly spam, but are not filtered out. E.g. the attached message (I seem to get a lot of herberrakdee's!) which as you see scores 100%. Why do these messages keep coming into my Inbox? At the moment I have the filtering sliders set to 30% for Spam and 15% for Possible Spam. Help! windows 2003 64bit

Hi all, I want to use spambayes (any version) on our windows 2003 64bit windows server. We have terminal server service running. We used to have 32bit windows 2003 and spambayes worked perfectly. But in the new environment it doesn't work. Any body got any ideas how to get the spambayes working on 2003 64bit version. Thank you. Pras
