My machine is on Windows 10. SpamBayes was working until I upgraded to Outlook 2021. Is there a valid .dll for this version? Best Regards, Linda Quattlebaum

Installing on Windows 11/Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019
by Richard Howells April 8, 2023

Hi, Here is what worked for me: * You MUST use a 32-bit version of Office. Last time I was looking MS seems to make it REALLY hard to find the 32-bit version. In the end I simply guessed. The d/l link I found included 'platform=x64' I changed that to x86 and it worked to access a 32 bit installer * Install to C:\SpamBayes (worked for me - I think from Win 7 onwards there have been problems with installing under Program Files) * I had a LOT of trouble with Outlook disabling the add in (Look in Options | Add Ins) because of a DEP failure. I turned off DEP for Outlook.exe (yes - I felt a bit dirty doing that but it seemed the only way to get it to work. (This experience was with commissioning a brand new laptop for my wife. On my own laptop, just over year old, I have the exact same build of outlook and I DON'T need to turn off DEP.) Good luck Best wishes, Richard Howells <mailto:Richard@dynamisys.co.uk> Richard(a)dynamisys.co.uk <http://www.dynamisys.co.uk/> www.dynamisys.co.uk (L) +44 (0) 1793 731225 (M) +44 (0) 7769 266522

Is spambayes still a valid app? Is it still maintained? Will it run under Windows 10 and 11? Thanks for your response, Dennis Dennis E. Coburn email: decoburn(a)comcast.net

SpamBayes

I've been using SpamBayes since 2004. This is the absolute best spam filter program ever written. Your developers should be billionaires by now. I had to buy a new laptop. It came with Windows 11. SpamBayes would not install. I bought a second laptop that came with Windows 10 just so I could have your program. Is there a version for Windows 11? BEST SPAM FILTER EVER! Sincerely, Linda Quattlebaum

SpamBayes Outlook failure
by alastair.sharp＠chattan.plus.com Dec. 13, 2020

Dec. 13, 2020

Hi, I am running Outlook 2016, which I've been running for some years, and using SpamBayes 1.1a6 for the same length of time. Yesterday, when I started Outlook it reused to load the SpamBayes plugin, telling me it could not load the database, and certainly didn't start the add-in! All attempts to fix this have failed, including uninstalling and deleting SpamBayes totally and starting again from the beginning. Have you any idea how this can be fixed? I completely miss the effective spam filtering! Best regards, Alastair Sharp

Error on your website

It looks like you've misspelled the word "Interupting" on your website. I thought you would like to know :). Silly mistakes can ruin your site's credibility. I've used a tool called SpellScan.com in the past to keep mistakes off of my website. -spambayes

Is there any chance someone will rewrite Spambayes to use python3? In Debian, it's hanging on by a thread, as they move from python2 to python3. Thanks, Dale Schroeder

Outlook Add-In
by Jarred Ladriere Sept. 15, 2020

Sept. 15, 2020

Dear sir / madam, My name is Jarred Ladriere, and I've developed a Microsoft Outlook add-in specifically to check recipient emails before sending. The main purpose of this add-in is to double check each email addresses to avoid sending to wrong addresses and most importantly to avoid spoofing and phishing. I contacted you to see if you're interested in co-marketing/co-ownership of this add-in? Best regards, Jarred Ladriere
