The idea is stop open relays from sending spam and let people know there computers are sending spam so they can fix it.

I see you have a popular project on Sourceforge. I have a similar dis-taste for SPAM (don't we all), so I have made a considerable investment by writing a SPAM complaint program.
I was wondering if you know someone, say Mark, that is interested in helping me integrate with Outlook. I'm a big Linux user but I'm willing to use the tools need to build and maintain the add-on so I can reach more users and get more spammers and their drones shut-down.
Please have a look, the web site is http://spamcomplaint.net ...
thanks, Jimmy
Soooo....your tool basically makes the spam problem worse. Can I complain about your tool? -- Thomas Hruska CubicleSoft President Ph: 517-803-4197 *NEW* MyTaskFocus 1.1 Get on task. Stay on task. http://www.CubicleSoft.com/MyTaskFocus/

This is a public mass e-mail list where anyone can reply - not just the developers. And my first impressions of the tool were that it simply sent a reply message to whoever sent it, which would make the problem worse, not better - thus the _humorous_ comment in the given context. If you want to have normal people understand what it is that the project offers, you need to fix the initial impression of your tool by changing the website to clearly and precisely label what it does, extend the FAQ significantly, and not assume a screenshot explains everything. It might be obvious to you as to what it does but to me and the rest of the world, it isn't obvious. I'm still not quite sure how it works even after having read some of the on-list replies and I visited the site before I replied. There is simply insufficient information on the website to figure out how it works without downloading and installing it - and most people don't have the time for that. Hopefully this explains my terse, yet humorous reply: I was given the wrong impression, came to the wrong conclusion*, and came up with something witty based on that (wrong) conclusion. I'm not a SB dev. (but I have hacked on some stuff to it). Even the SB devs. here had difficulty understanding what it is that your tool does and at least one dev. came to the same conclusion I did. -- Thomas Hruska CubicleSoft President Ph: 517-803-4197 *NEW* MyTaskFocus 1.1 Get on task.
