I don't understand, is your service free? I want to stop all of the spam mail that comes into my mail box, some of it is very dirty. I do not open them but send them on to the spam on my computer, but I still get the same stuff. Anne cats522@sbcglobal.net
SpamBayes is indeed free. (It's software that you install on your machine, though, not a service.) See http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/faq.html#how-do-i-set-up-spambayes-and- outlook-express for information on obtaining the software and setting it up with Outlook Express. ________________________________ From: spambayes-bounces@python.org [mailto:spambayes-bounces@python.org] On Behalf Of cats522 Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 4:47 PM To: spambayes@python.org Subject: [Spambayes] question Importance: Low I don't understand, is your service free? Yes, SpamBayes is free anti-spam software that you install on your computer. It appears that you use Outlook Express. If you download the latest version from here: http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/ the installer should guide you through the steps necessary to setup the SpamBayes POP3 proxy for use with Outlook Express. If you're interested in a more full-featured, but still free, mail program you might check out Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ Thunderbird works fairly hard at being a free Outlook replacement. If you make that switch you can choose to use the Thunderbayes extension: http://pieces.openpolitics.com/thunderbayes/ which integrates the SpamBayes functionality into the Thunderbird user interface more tightly than it will be with Outlook Express. You'll have a better mail program to boot. Just a thought. -- Skip Montanaro - skip@pobox.com - http://www.webfast.com/~skip/
