Colleagues, The SpamBayes plugin version 1.0.4 crashes Outlook 2003. And no, it is not an Athlon 64 or Core 2 Duo, it is an Intel Xeon. What should I look into to solve the problem? The plugin was installed by an administrarive user, then registered with "outlook_addin_register.exe hkey_local_machine" and is being run by non-privileged users. If I run outlook_addin_register from this non-privileged user, I get the following error in spambayes1.log: Traceback (most recent call last): File "addin.py", line 1546, in ? File "win32com\server\register.pyc", line 483, in UseCommandLine File "win32com\server\register.pyc", line 413, in RegisterClasses File "win32com\server\register.pyc", line 181, in RegisterServer File "win32com\server\register.pyc", line 32, in _set_string pywintypes.error: (5, 'RegSetValue', '\xce\xf2\xea\xe0\xe7\xe0\xed\xee \xe2 \xe4\xee\xf1\xf2\xf3\xef\xe5.') I installed spambayes-1.1a4-070629.exe Now when starting Outlook it says: "There was an error initializing the SpamBayes addin Please re-start Outlook and try again." I tried removing %appdata%\SpamBayes and configuring SpamBayes from scratch, it does not help. -- Victor Sudakov, VAS4-RIPE, VAS47-RIPN sip:sudakov@sibptus.tomsk.ru

Perhaps someone else here can offer some suggestions. -- Skip Montanaro - skip@pobox.com - http://smontanaro.dyndns.org/
Well, I have Outlook 2002. I've been using Spambayes 1.0.4 happily for years. Suddenly (last couple of weeks?) I've started experiencing this issue. I tried retraining Spambayes by going through the configuration wizard and it seemed to resolve the issue for a while. Now it is back again. Wonder if a recent Microsoft patch broke something?
