(this is all old news to people who hang out in #twisted.web, but I thought I'd update everyone who doesn't.) Nevow has got its own repository going now, and isn't dependent upon quotient and atop anymore. Check it out with: cvs -z6 -d :pserver:anon@divmod.org:/cvs checkout Nevow The Wiki has moved and is now at: http://divmod.org/users/wiki.twistd/nevow/moin.cgi There is a new mailing list nevow-commits: http://divmod.org/users/mailman.twistd/listinfo/nevow-commits The commits also show up on a nice webpage generated by StatCVS: http://divmod.org/users/foom/statcvs/Nevow/ James
Great news. I'll check all of that this evening. I'll consider starting to learn nevow now :) James Y Knight wrote:

Apologies if this has already been covered. Is nevow considered to be woven's replacement or alternative? Is woven still being actively developed? cheers, Andy.

As I red some weeks ago, nevow will replace woven, because woven lacks some features. You can see it as a complete rewrite of the engine, but back-compatibility is lost. There are no plans yet (correct me if I'm wrong) to integer novew in the twisted repository. This is the reason that made me give up woven :(

Not only is it not being actively developed, it's not even being maintained. I don't recommend anyone use woven for new code, even if you don't want to use nevow. -- Twisted | Christopher Armstrong: International Man of Twistery Radix | Release Manager, Twisted Project ---------+ http://radix.twistedmatrix.com/
Hello, Well ... Thank you for the cold shower ;-) How hard will it be to port woven based servers to nevow ? Will it need a full rewrite or are the interface similar enough to not make the job a real pain ? Thomas Mangin

Some of the concepts are new, but on the whole, the paradigm is largely the same. Nowhere near the confusion involved in porting, say, a CGI to Woven was ;-) There aren't any guides to porting, though. Check out the Wiki and the linked resources. http://divmod.org/users/wiki.twistd/nevow/moin.cgi/ -- Twisted | Christopher Armstrong: International Man of Twistery Radix | Release Manager, Twisted Project ---------+ http://radix.twistedmatrix.com/
