[Twisted-Python] Question regarding async stuff

I'm working on a network file server right now and am using Twisted as my networking framework. Overall, it's working really well. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out so far is what is async and what is not. It looks like data transfer is async (self.transport.write(msg)), but the functions called in the protocol can block the entire twisted main loop. Delayed has a note that it is being depreceted, but looked to be the only way to make the Protocol dataReceived() function run in an async manner. What is replacing Delayed and is there any other way that I can cause the Protocol dataReceived call to handle async? The reason I ask is that it doesn't appear that a twisted server can handle processing multiple requests at the same time. It appears that a request must come in and be processed before another request can be serviced. It probably isn't a big deal for me as the number of requests and amount of processing per request will be low, but it could be that I'm totally misunderstanding how the framework works. Itamar, here it is as promised, if you don't like the way it is done, just say so and I will rework it as needed. Well, I didn't even test it, if you like the aproach I will start using it in apt-proxy and report. But it is very small patch, I hopefully am not dumb enough to fuck up in such a little thing. [Twisted-Python] 0.19.0rc3

It's that time again! Twisted 0.19.0rc3 has been made available on www.twistedmatrix.com. Everybody please check it out and report any bugs (that aren't already in Known Issues). Here's the current list of known issues (from the README file):: * Twisted Sister unit tests don't pass, and even cause the runtests process to eventually totally freeze. * FTP unit tests *still* fail, with an error about "test_ftp.py" not being in the file listing. * There are other issues with wakeUp on win32 which are causing unit tests on win32 to fail/hang. * marmalade is broken on python 2.2, because of type/class unification issues. Should be an easy fix. Also, I was notified by an anonymous informant last night that generate-domdocs isn't running properly on Mac OSX. While this isn't really important, it'd be nice to have that fixed too. :-)

It's not a code issue so I won't press the issue if anyone really, deeply, seriously, egregiously, vehemently, passionately disagrees (and has a rationale).
