I have a project using Twisted as an http server. What is the best way to persistent server data across server start/stop? Example: While the server is running, a user will add virtual directories via a .rpy application as follows: root.putChild(name, path) Ideally modifications to the server configuration would persist across server start/stop. Greetings... I have a twisted application based on XMLRPC which uses SSL. I need to validate client certificates and then somehow retrieve the CN from the peer certificate from the xmlrpc_* routines. I've figured out so far how to do certificate validation and that works fine. I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out how to get the CN. Hello, i'm trying to use PB for remote procedure calls in the context of numeric computations. So far things work really well (Twisted is a real cool piece of software!), but now i'm trapped by twisted.spread.banana.SIZE_LIMIT. I need to send pretty much data over the network (~512 MB) and tried out to set the SIZE_LIMIT to 640 MB. Hmm, still getting the "String too long exception", cause the 640 kB are hardcoded in cBanana.c. Any chances to make the limit configurable ? Regards, Christoph

As I was saying on the list I am making a login system with woven, and the way to autheticate the user is by doing a pb call. Hello. I have wxPython clients (twisted on windows XP) and twisted ssl server(RH linux 8.0). Clients connect to server and passes their pb.Referenceable. Server every minute calls clients remote methods. Returning NS records of the authority for unhandled names is something t.names doesn't support. It should not be difficult to add, though. This would probably be done by creating a new kind of Resolver, once that just looked up and return NS records, regardless of query type, and putting it at the back of the resolver chain. Aside from implementing this, everything else for the scenario you describe is probably already supported, the trick is just configuring all the pieces properly. So, you probably want just two resolvers in a ResolverChain, in a server running on the internal interface of each of these networks (I'm not sure if this would be the WAN network, or a private network for each participating organisation). The first resolver would be your preloaded CacheResolver, the second would be the new NS resolver described above. Arguably the NS resolver should be present in t.names for it to be a proper nameserver anyway... but that is a different discussion :) I'm not sure I've said anything insightful, but I hope it helps. I am using distrib.ResourceSubscription and ResourcePublisher to link a user-run web server with Moshe's twisted-web. I've noticed something very odd going on; my twistd process will progressively hog memory and CPU time to the point that the entire server slows down.
