hi *, i'm going through the twisted.enterprise python code and i find almost everywhere commens as: safe(text) Make a string safe to include in an SQL statement or escape_string(self, text) Escape a string for use in an SQL statement. imho, this is plain wrong. twisted uses dbapi compliant adapters and they *should* provide safe argument quoting (as per DBAPI-2.0.) it is almost impossible to manage the quoting the right way for every db adapter, … [View More]

Hi all, This weekend I started playing around with twisted.web, and I'm really impressed. This is great stuff. I'd like to port the web interface for Hep over to twisted.web (the current version uses twisted.protocols.http only), but I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to accomplish what I want. So far I've set up a server that processes .epy files using twisted.web.script.PythonScript. I certainly need a brief sample of how to use reactor.connectWith and how to set up Protocol so that it correctly switches to another Protocol and initializes it. Example with: self.__class__ = anotherProto.__class__ self.connectionMade() is good but not enough. Constructor must be called at least and parameters should be passed to it. Attached is the patch for TLS support within twisted. It is not the best code, but it passes all the SSL test (None working on that next) and works.
