I just added a new howto titled "Extending the Lore Documentation System" (extend-lore.html). It is currently incomplete, but it walks you through a complete simple example for adding new LaTeX spitters. Let me know if there are any more topics that deserve coverage (other than the unfinished headings already there). Some packages are found to have such horrible bugs in them that they should never be used by anybody for any purpose whatsoever, regardless of who was unfortunate enough to depend on them. I don't know if this is the case for those debian packages, however. Laura

Just to throw another newbie perspective into the Twisted mix: I like the idea of taps. As Glyph has mentioned numerous times, the existing tap concept is not as good as it could/should be. Even so, I find taps useful for one simple reason: I can sell Twisted to my boss because of taps and plugins. How can I access the reactor if I want to use the win32eventreactor? It seems I have to win32eventreactor.install() before importing the reactor from twisted.internet, otherwise I get a traceback saying AssertionError: reactor already installed. I'm currently doing my first steps with twisted, and I have a question. I've started hacking the EchoClient example to connect to a small embedded TCP server with a custom protocol I have here. The server sends a line-feed 3 times a second, and when the client doesn't receive them for one second or more, it must assume the connection is broken and it should close the connection immediately (and try to reconnect). A couple places in Twisted use reactor.connectSSL(). They all seem to do it incorrectly, as far as I can tell. The two places I've noticed are twisted/spread/pb.py:1152 and twisted/web/xmlrpc.py:257. Hello Twisted-Python, I've found only Socks4 server implementation in protocols/socks4.py And it seems that there is no Socks4 client inside. Should I look better? Okay, I know where to look for Socks5 and HTTP tunneling proxy RFC and can implement them (client parts), but how can I do that if I even don't understand how socks client works :) Also is there any client example that wraps any service - http, smtp, oscar etc inside socks session?
