James, After having done a bit more reading, I have to agree with everything that you've said. The only gains that I'm going to see will come from spawning new processes and letting them propogate across the cluster. Thanks for the informative response and kudos to everyone involved with this project. This appears to be a very well engineered framework. Almost _more_ important, I have found a wealth of documentation and examples to help kick-start my work with it. Cheers, Kelly

On IRC (just now) I suggested that people who've contributed to the docs should probably have their names in them, if they like. It would be a nice thing to do for people who took the trouble to write them, and show potential contributors that we value their help. I'm thinking "by So-and-so" and "thanks to So-and-so for their help" type things. [Twisted-Python] Beginners Guide to Twisted Anywhere?

I'm wondering if there exists a beginners guide to using Twisted. Something similar to the online tutorial for Python. I've browsed the docs on the Twisted website, and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. Specifically, a lot of the examples are mostly just code with brief commentary which doesn't really explain things. Can someone help me out! :) Many thanks, Britt

Hi, I have a number of cpu-heavy signal processing routines that I want to make remotely available. Is it worth the energy to use the twisted framework in order to build an application like this? I have a cluster available and was hoping to use its thread-migration to even out the processing and provide scalability. If you feel this is a do-able application, any design suggestions for an excited twisted neophyte would be welcome! Thanks, Kelly.

So I've been playing with the examples on the Twisted website, mostly the Echo server. When it runs, it immediately echos back whatever character one types in. So the output looks like so: aakkee33ccbb::oo I wanted to rewrite it so that it would repeat things a line at a time, as opposed to a chracter at a time. Wait, wait, that causes *hangs*? That seems like a bad thing. It doesn't look like an obviously wrong thing to do to me. Do you know *why* it's hanging? Hi, Here is some additional info. The problem is probably not with my twisted installation or my use of twisted. Again, everything works fine if I run the server on machine A; I get the "Connection refused" error if I run the server on machine B. I'm 99.9% certain the twisted installation is the same on both machines. I installed at the same time on both. I'm less certain about the network configuration. The requested information follows.
