We haven't even gotten to the second sprint yet (this weekend, Sydney, see you there), and there's talk of a third one. The Australian Open Source Developers Conference is being held at Monash University, Caulfield, Melbourne from December 5th to 7th this year. Seems like all of the Tassie Twisted folk are submitting papers and a few others are thinking of submitting or attending. Hence, while it probably won't be even as formally informal (or informally formal?) as the Hobart and Sydney sprints, it seems likely that critical mass will be achieved in Melbourne and Twisted coding might take place... .... Conference details: Monday, December the 5th to Wednesday December the 7th, 2005 Call for papers is currently open: http://osdc2005.cgpublisher.com/cfp.html but deadline is *this Friday* 19th August. Hi All I am new to Twisted networks.I read its documentation that it is a network over which we can build network applications like chat server. I have queries regarding , Twisted Word chat server , written in python. I just know that it is available under free BSD license. I want to know that is it available as a free download.Can I download the server and a compatible client ? are the APIs of the server available? How many simlutaneuos users does it support. [Twisted-Python] how to delay the response in the protocol.Protocol

In the protocol derived class and dataReceived function, I need to send response with given delay using self.transport.write(str(msg)). I guess I would use "maybeDeferred" class to do that. How to pass the delay value. Please advice, A.

It seems tmrc.mit.edu is down. (Or is that just some kind of DNS problem in my end?) Is there any other place I can download TwistedSumo-2005-05-25.tar.bz2 or something equivalent from? Due to firewalls and stuff, I have problems using svn at work...

First I wanted to say is that i attached a file with _working_ code. Please try to change a user nad password in telnet_User, and telnet_Password. > With this longer example I'm not sure what part of it is not behaving > as you expect. Please read the thread: [Twisted - Python] Telnet client & keeping connection alive. I want to send to connected telnet server a "pwd" command every 20 sec. Here I got less (5 sec.) to wait for effects -> see task.LoopingCall(telnet_KeepAlive2). In function telnet_KeepAlive2 I try to execute function from TelnetProtocol class (function telnet_KeepAlive). It doesn't execute, and becouse of that is after # sign. With this line commented program works just fine (executes every 5 sec. a telnet_KeepAlive2() ),but it does nothing important. Run this program with this line commented, You should see that he prints (after connection): keeping alive 1 keeping alive 2 keeping alive 1 keeping alive 2 ... but I must to execute telnet_KeepAlive() method (from TelnetProtocol, _and this is the problem_). This method should send by self.write("pwd\n \r") command to telnet server. Sorry if I repeat myself, but I try to explain the problem the best way I could. If I uncoment line in telnet_KeepAlive2 (line: tel.telnet_KeepAlive()),my telnet client connect to server and now do nothing (doesn't get into telnet_KeepAlive2 loop). > I feel like I'm trying to read minds here, and I'm not very good at > that :) Me neither :).
