[Twisted-Python] Reliable Datagram Protocol?

I have need for a reliable datagram protocol running under Twisted. So far I have found AirHook (2003) and an RDP implementation that was posted on p2p-hackers (2004). I have also found Divmod's Vertex. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of these implementations? Has anyone heard of any other RDP implementation? Peace, Chaz

[Twisted-Python] Multicast XMLRPC

I have a XMLPRC client that works well under TCP and I am now trying to get it to work under Multicast conditions. Here is the "TCP" code I used: class StorageService(internet.TCPServer): def __init__(self,tcpPort,configInfo): r = StoragePeer(configInfo) xmlrpc.addIntrospection(r) internet.TCPServer.__init__(self,tcpPort,server.Site(r)) I changed the call to TCPServer to: class StorageService(internet.TCPServer): def __init__(self,tcpPort,configInfo): r = StoragePeer(configInfo) xmlrpc.addIntrospection(r) internet.MulticastServer.__init__(self,tcpPort,server.Site(r)) I thought this would work since, but it doesn't. What I get returned is the following error message: Failed to load application: unbound method __init__() must be called with MulticastServer instance as first argument (got StorageService instance instead) Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Hi, Apologies, please disregard the previous email - here is the good one. I need to connect to a PerspectiveBroker from a VB application. I did it with a com server in python, which works fine when the com client is also python code. All the calls must be synchronous to the com server. When Calling from VB it works fine every time if the function used from the com server don't use the reactor. The problem is that when I call (from the VB com client) the functions that uses the twisted reactor it performs well the first time but for the the second time it's called, it stalls. I have to kill the vb executable. The function from the test code is: testBroker() Please can you help me to shed some light on this? Should I do it another way? Bellow is the code that I am using. Please post to twisted-web about web-related questions in the future. No, PB does not know how to talk HTTP or JSON. You can still use twisted.web to implement a web server that can speak JSON to your Javascript code. Also take a look at Divmod's Athena, part of Nevow, which implements two-way communication with web pages with an API similar to PB's.

Hi. Is it possible (at least in principle) to serialize objects in JSON and to do requests via HTTP? That is, to make possible to use Python functions and objects via JavaScript, using Perspective Broker. Regards Manlio Perillo
