Hi I've created a couple of extension types for the AMP protocol. Currently there two types: A dictionary and a list. The types of the element must be specified (key and value can be different in the dictionary), otherwise they are free form, i.e., the keys in the dictionary can have any name, and the list can be of any size. Here's my checker I mentioned on irc just now, 'UserDbCredChecker', which I've added to the web2 auth example ... as you can see, it's pretty trivial, and it works with my twisted.web-based app, so I'm puzzled why it doesn't work with the web2 auth example I've added it to. Sorry this isn't a runnable example, but just wanted to see if there was anything obvious by inspection before I go and create a runnable example -- which I'll do if necessary. [Twisted-Python] Suppressing terminal window from reactor.spawnProcess?

Hi, I'm doing a Twisted app on Windows. As part of its work it uses spawnProcess to temporarily spawn a process to communicate with. When I run the app from the command line in the usual fashion, spawnProcess() goes on and does its thing quietly and nicely. I then turned the Twisted app into a Windows Service, and now when it spawns the process, it opens a terminal window. Any idea how to suppress that? I tried the usePTY argument but of course that ain't supported on Windows. Thanks! Steve

Submitted as evidence that I'm not as good at thinking through the consequences of my actions as I'd like. Embarrassingly so. Enjoy. I'd like to send log events to a log server via xmlrpc. So I created an object with write() and flush() functions, and passed it to t.p.log.FileLogObserver. In write(), I intended to use t.w.xmlrpc.Proxy.callRemote() to send the log entry someplace. Saturday morning, halfway through the build for r19561, the PSU for the machine running the Debian Python 2.4 buildslave fried itself and took much of the rest of the machine with it. Consequently, this slave will be offline until I can replace the machine. Since this also happens to be my primary Twisted development machine, I probably won't be doing much Twisted development either until it is replaced. While using Twisted, do I have to worry about locking objects to prevent multiple threads from accessing the object? I'm writing a Twisted client that uses PB. It seems to be getting stuck intermittently -- failing to respond to the server's queries. Sometimes it gets stuck immediately after login, sometimes after it's been running fine for a while. I'm starting the Twisted client in a terminal window. What unsticks it in these cases is always a single ^C. Hello. I'm using Twisted 1.3.0 on python2.4 on an Ubuntu-Hoary x86 Linux box. I'm using twisted and spawnProcess() with a Queue structure to chain processes that need to be called (specifically, imagemagick commands). I use the "processEnded" event/method of t.i.p.ProcessProtocol to go from one task to the next. I've got a little test program that checks to make sure my protocol behaves correctly. Each function returns a deferred, and sets the next function as the callback, and some common function as errback. This seems to work great -- the test runs through all the test funcs when working properly, and halts at the problem point if not.
