Hello all, This seems more a .NET issue since the server runs fine and returns a correct SOAP envelope but I am still asking my question... We have a basic Twisted SOAP server with an "echo" method that simply returns it's argument. (Typically a string). A client written with SOAPpy communicates fine with this server. However a C# client in .NET seems unable to read the echoed string. Any ideas someone might have would be greatly appreciated. Arye.

[Twisted-Python] FTP/VFS -- registerProducer error

Modeling my code off the FTP server example (http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/attachment/ticket/1579/ftp_server_example.py), I coded my own FTPRealm class to use an inmem vfs instead of the local filesystem. I can browse and download data from it without issue, but anytime I attempt to upload a file, I get this error: File "twisted/protocols/ftp.py", line 421, in registerConsumer self._cons.registerProducer(self, True) exceptions.AttributeError: _FileToConsumerAdapter instance has no attribute 'registerProducer' I'm setting up the avatar with the line: avatar = FileSystemToIFTPShellAdaptor(pathutils.FileSystem(inmem.FakeDirectory())) Full code is available here: http://rafb.net/p/FgTbiP80.html Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, Re. this message: http://twistedmatrix.com/pipermail/twisted-python/2007-May/015373.html Has any work been done here? I'm facing a project that requires two-way communication between a Flex/Apollo app and a Twisted server. In my initial tests I used http and comet-like techniques but I'm not sure they are the most efficient way. I'm willing to help with the project - I've already dabbled a little in the DjangoAMF stuff. Arnar

Hi all, while checking my server logs I found a lot of messages like this: [Failure instance: Traceback: <type 'exceptions.UnicodeDecodeError'>: 'utf8' codec can't decode bytes in position 4-6: invalid data What might be the cause of this and how do I fix it? [Twisted-Python] ESMTP Authentication

Hi, I am trying to implement SMTP Auth using the twisted mail.esmtp class, but I can't seem to figure out the right methods needed. I've added a challenger to the ESMTP instance as a class: self.challengers = {'LOGIN': KPLAINCredentials()} But I can't seem to figure out what methods I need to implement in the KPLAINCredentials class. Does anyone have a snippet of code that implements LOGIN Auth that I could use for a reference or know the methods needed? I am very confused by this call chal = self.challengers.get(parts[0].upper(), lambda: None)() in esmtp.ext_Auth Thanks in advance for any advice. -Kent

[Twisted-Python] conch command at a time

Does anyone have an example of an conch code that executes one command, process the results then executes another that maybe different based on the output of the first. And continues processing commands like that all in the same session. Almost like "expect". Thats a bit different then the conch script itself in that it just executes commands then sends you the output, and doesn't process it at all. Thats what I'm trying to accomplish, but i can't even find an example where i could set a list of commands to run, then kick off a ssh and execute the commands in order and return the results of all of them to store off somewhere. I'm not sure if using SSHSession or SSHUnixChannel would help to do this because they have no documentation on what they do or how to use them. Eli Criffield

[Twisted-Python] Perspective Broker with blocking, non-thread-safe C api?

I'd like to use Perspective Broker to serve a set of objects remotely. However, these objects wrap a non-thread-safe, blocking C api. I'm new to Twisted, but I believe I understand correctly that the blocking C api needs to be accessed via threads in Twisted. Given this, the only way I can think to use Perspective Broker would be to use a special PBServerFactory/Protocol that limited the server to one connected client. For the use I would be putting the server to, this is maybe not as horrible as it sounds, but it is probably as ugly as it sounds. I'm hoping there's something in PB that I haven't come across that can solve this problem in a more elegant way. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
