Hi, I have an xml file in my application, I have created an element using Example goes like this......... document.createElement("abc") and i appeneded it by using append() method. hey all, I just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6 which includes Python 2.6.1. I'm running the latest SVN HEAD of Twisted, but when I run twistd I get an exception before it continues working (apparently) normally. Hello, I have a sample XMPP client with the following structure: from twisted.words.protocols.jabber import client, jid from twisted.internet import reactor ... factory = client.basicClientFactory(myJid, myPasswd) reactor.connectTCP(host,5222,factory) reactor.run() It works well, I can connect to the XMPP server. Hi! I would like to write a small daemon that monitors (tails) a server log, parses the entries and sends HTTP requests based on some of those entries. I would like it if the reading of the log file and the sending of http requests were asynchronous. Should I use twisted for this? Or is twisted overkill... Martin

Hello, I have created a telnet server in python. Maybe you wonder why to create a telnet server while Windows has one? Because the windows telnet server does not allow to interract with the desktop. If you try to start a GUI app, it will start and run but will not be displayed on the server desktop. My telnet server will allow to start a GUI application interracting with the windows desktop of the server. I would like to implement the authentication using AuthenticatingTelnetProtocol and credential. I found the "cred.py" example on the twistedmatrix website (in the example section) and looked fine as starting point. I quite well understand this expample. Hello everyone. I was wondering if any tutorials existed for setting up unit tests for use with trial. I've done a fair share of googling and only found tickets suggesting that more documentation be made available for trial. I've been attempting to make sense of the tests that ship with twisted but to be honest I'm having a hard. Just thought a tutorial that walks through and explains things would help a lot. Thanks.

Hi, I copied the code from: http://twistedmatrix.com/pipermail/twisted-python/2007-May/015377.html and it ran ok. And then I followed David's advice from here: http://twistedmatrix.com/pipermail/twisted-python/2007-May/015383.html to use threading.Event to control server's stop, it ran ok too. But David's boot_service.py just could install the service, error on start (error 1063). Any help? [Twisted-Python] Some way for Trial to allow selective running of tests?

I've been successfully and happily using Trial for a while now for development of a server. I have many tests at this point; during development of a new feature, I'd like to have a convenient way to only run the tests relevant to that feature. I'm hacking it at this point by prefixing the names of all unwanted tests with "foo" to keep them from being recognized. Naturally, I'd like a better way to do this. Hi, I want to develop an C/S app over internet using twisted Perspective Broker. The server will run as a windows service, and the clients will be wxPython desktop applications. Has anyone done the same thing or known the trick to do it? Shoud I use PB or Pyro or SPyro? Which is the best? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I wrote a twisted app using the XMPP code that works fin on linux (and windows), but on Mac I get a twisted.names.error.DNSNameError, I searched google but found nothing on this, is there a known bug with Twisted on Mac? Hello everyone, I have been experiencing the ConnectionError with adbapi & cp_reconnect=True. I know that because of the cp_reconnect=True param tha is reconnects and that the query is not re-run. I have written some code that should re-run the query in that case (if I get a Failure back because of a ConnectionError), but it doesn't seem to work. Hello everyone, I have written an application using Twisted, WX and I wanted to test it under Mac. I have successfully used it on linux and windows before. When I run it, I often get the pinwheel of death and then the whole OS locks up, even SSH no longer accepts connections, I have to hard reboot it. Has anyone ever witnessed this? Does anyone know/have an idea of what could cause this? I was wondering if it is not the twisted + wx integration that could cause this. Thank you, Gabriel
