Hello, I've been reading up on this http://twistedmatrix.com/documents/current/core/howto/defer.html I'm a bit confused as to the "visual explanation". It seems like if you have a single callback and errback, that if the errback wants to swallow the error, the callback will not be called at all, since deferred processing will look for the second callback at that point by the diagram. So, right now I'm calling my own callback from the errback if I want to swallow the error. Is there a better way? Thanks, Mike -- Michael P. [Twisted-Python] Log rotates not as expected

[Twisted-Python] How to diagnose slowness

Hello everyone, I have noticed slowness sometimes in between two twisted apps. It doesn't happen often, and I'm not sure where it comes from. It may either be when the msg is sent, that it really isn't sent until after a delay (why?), or when the other service receives it, it takes time to process the msg. The second idea may be easier to find, I haven't been able to though. If I send the same msg, sometimes it's slowed down, and sometimes not. From what I see both of my suggestions may be happening. These msgs are XMPP based and I'm using Twisted 8.1.0. Does anyone have any tips on diagnosing this problem? Thank you, Gabriel

Hi, Currently I'm using twisted.web api for my http server. If I have to implement a file upload from client, is it possible to receive a file at server end using twisted.web? or should I move to twisted.web2? but I read twisted.web2 is not stable(that too, I may have to change my code for a shift). The GUI is done with PyQt4, and the network part is written using twisted. Hello eveyone, I think it is nice to mention this announce here, since Purity heavily uses Twisted. (as well all my other Python projects, such as Toonloop, and others) Purity is a Python library for Pure Data dynamic patching. The idea is to be able to harness the power of Pure Data for audio programming without having to use its graphical interface, and without the need to create external objects in C. Python's clear and intuitive syntax can be used with profit in order to create intricate patches with advanced string handling, graphical user interfaces and asynchronous network operations. Purity uses Twisted, an event-driven Python framework. Pure Data is a real-time graphical programming environment mainly for audio processing. See http://puredata.info/ to learn more about Pure Data. It seems like there are people interested in using Purity, so I have created a mailing list to discuss its further developments. I am ready to put some time and efforts in Purity, and even to explain basic of the Twisted library, if there are people who help me to make design decisions and to test it. Hi, I've switched recently from 8.2 to 9.0 and noticed that some of my client scripts hang in reactor.stop() on exit sometimes. That never happened before. For example if I run the gethostbyname.py from the twisted-names examples directory it prints the correct result and hangs forever until I press Cntrl-C. [Twisted-Python] SIP and RTP

Hello, I need to make a SIP call and play a wav file over the RTP stream from a twisted server. This is a sort of visual voicemail application. Has anyone set this up using twisted before? I saw the SIP protocol support in twisted, but I'm not sure how complete it is. Do you think it would be difficult to make this solution a reality? I heard of the Shtoom project which did this using Twisted, but it appears dead I can't find the source code for it.
