I am plannig to upgrade twisted's buildbot in the near future. In preperation for that, I am going to take down the production buildbot on Tuesday, June 26, around 1600 UTC[1]. During that time, the result of any builds done will be lost. Thus, I'd ask that people avoid committing to trunk during that time. Hi, Recently we have introduced a hard check of 100% coverage for all changes. This is done via coverage + codecov + github protected branches. Now, if your patch is not 100% covered github will not let you merge it. All, I'd like to submit a patch to convert t.conch.ssh to the new logging. Hi, I have updated the version of buildbot used by https://buildbot.twistedmatrix.com it used to be an old forked version with some patches... but the fork did not had good documentation. To move things forward I have discarded the forked changes and went for upstream version. [Twisted-Python] Error handling in twisted.web.HTTPClient for bad certificates with TLSMemoryBIOProtocol

Hi, i just stumbled onto some issue while trying to use xmlrpc.Proxy together with the TLSMemoryBIOProtocol, but its probably the same for all wrapping protocols sitting on top of the old HTTP client. If the target certificate is invalid and cannot be verified, the errback just tells me 'ConnectionDone', as if all was okay, and simply drops the SSL Error. See below for details/tracebacks. The root cause is in twisted.web.HTTPClient.connectionLost: def connectionLost(self, reason): self.… [View More]handleResponseEnd() it simply ignores the reason passed to it and tries to extract some reason from the response. But in the case of a TLS handshake problem, there is no valid response yet. Looks like a bug to me. Basically what should happen is similar to the clientConnectionLost() method of a ClientFactory, but the Protocol already got the connectionMade from the tls Layer... Now i want to find the best way to deal with it. - Fix HTTPClient.connectionLost to handle the reason properly if no valid Response exists? - Wrap TLSMemoryBIOFactory to handle this? - Something else? Would the new connector API handle it better? The code is a bit older, so does not use the new connector APIs yet, but is running like this on Twisted 16.2. (Traceback is from 14.0.2 as i have reproduced it there first). [Twisted-Python] Improvements to Resource dispatch

All, Now that the HTTP/2 server changes have landed, one of the things I’d like to start dealing with is server Resource dispatch. Those of you who have been paying attention to this mailing list will remember that we discussed this a bit back when I was originally implementing HTTP/2 logic, and we ended up deferring the work for a while. It’s time to re-discuss this. To try to avoid boiling the ocean I’d like to divide this into small steps. Adi has pointed out Twisted ticket #6928, which … [View More]includes an original patch to allow Resources to opt-in to early-dispatch when headers are received. This allows them to handle 100 Continue more feature fully than Twisted does today (where it unconditionally emits 100 Continue). If Adi is up for it, I’m willing to take over the lead reviewer role for that patch and try to help shepherd it through the process. The rest of this mail is a commentary on the proposed interface, which you can see here[0]. Note that the patch available there is non-functional: we’re mostly concerned with discussing the interfaces, more than we’re concerned about the actual function of the patch. Ok, let’s go. Adi, my high level summary is that this patch looks reasonable. headersReceived is a sensible interface, and while I don’t like the names IEarlyHeaders{Request,Resource}, those names can be addressed later in the review process. An obvious thing missing from your draft is that the HTTPChannel doesn’t check for IEarlyHeadersRequest before calling headersReceived, but that’s presumably an oversight. I’d like separate patches that implement IEarlyHeadersResource for some relevant built-in resources, such as t.w.static.File, mostly so we can confirm that the behaviour works in cases where we do not need to check the request content. Otherwise, I think this is a good enough prototype to start working from. The biggest question mark I have is how we plan to evolve this. The next logical step, presumably, is a new set of interfaces (children of IEarlyHeaders{Request,Resource}) that allow for streaming body delivery. I’m a bit nervous about wanting to publish too many of these *intermediary* interfaces, especially because it will mean we need fallback code for each case (what about Resources that don’t implement IEarlyHeadersResource?, what about Resources that don’t implement IStreamingBodyResource? each requires a new code path). In this instance, I’d want to be pretty aggressive about deprecating older interfaces and ensuring that people move to the newer interface model. Perhaps when we merge this we should deprecate plain Resource objects and encourage people to move to IEarlyHeadersResource, so that they have a smaller delta when streaming resources are implemented too. Those are my high level thoughts. If anyone else has feedback please feel free to leap in, but otherwise I’m going to encourage Adi to provide a “proper” patch (or possibly sequence of patches) that we can more formally review. Hi everyone, I'm doing some builder work today; including changing the versions of Ubuntu we test on. From next week, our supported Ubuntu platforms will be: - Ubuntu 12.04 (Python 2.7) - Ubuntu 14.04 (Python 2.7) - Ubuntu 16.04 (Python 2.7, Python 3.4, Python 3.5, PyPy (unsupported)) These are all LTS versions right now, and should provide us pretty wide coverage of Ubuntus that are widely used. - Amber
