I'm trying to deliver mail using twisted.mail.sendmail (version 18.9.0)
Delivery attempts to some servers fail either with disconnections or
timeouts following the STARTTLS command. When I disable STARTTLS (by
patching tryTLS()) message delivery succeeds.
So is there a way to log the TLS handshake process to be able to
understand why the TLS connection cannot resume? Any suggestions for

Is it possible to make t.m.sendmail() attempt another delivery without
I've been trying to install the latest Twisted 18.9.0 with pip install,
(using Oracle LInux 7.4), but I'm getting compilation errors. The first
src/twisted/test/raiser.c:4:20: fatal error: Python.h: No such file or
I was able to work around that, but now I"m getting this error:
gcc -pthread -shared -Wl,-z,relro -g -L ./python3.6m
*-lpython3.6m* -o build/lib.linux-x86_64-3.6/twisted/test/
* /etc/alternatives/ld: cannot find -lpython3.6m*
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1
Since the compile is under the control of all the install scripts, I can't
determine where the linker is looking for "python36m".
Any help would be much appreciated!
