A while ago, we were opening up a ton of sockets and got a "Too many files open" error. I don't know what you're getting, but if that's it, you might try (1) opening fewer sockets, (2) upping operating system limit (Twisted doesn't control that).
According to our admin, on Linux, that would be /proc/sys/fs/file-max and use "sysctl -w 'fs.file-max=<new limit>'" to up the limit.
