Hi, We've successfully used bbfreeze (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/bbfreeze/0.95.4) to build binaries with twisted on linux. To make a deb from that binary is pretty easy, read up on the 'dpkg-deb' command. You can also convert that .deb to an .rpm using a tool called 'alien'. Cheers, Reza

See also the stdeb tool [1] which produces .deb's from setup.py's (assuming that the setup.py's use the standard distutils or setuptools).
