PyCon 2021 Typing Summit
Hello everyone, PyCon 2021 is coming up fast, and so is the first Typing Summit in over a year. We’re really excited and hope you are too! Thanks to the hard work of everyone who volunteered to present a topic for discussion, Alfonso and I are now able to share an agenda for the summit: Typing Summit Schedule Thursday, May 13th from 11AM-3:30PM EST, 8AM-12:30PM PST, 5PM-9:30PM CET All times below listed in PST. 8:00 AM - 8:15 AM: Greetings, Starting Up 8:15 AM- 8:45 AM: Type Syntax Simplifications 8:45 AM - 9:10 AM: Validating JSON with TypedDict, trycast, and TypeForm 9:10 AM - 9:40 AM: Type Variables for All 9:40 AM - 9:50 AM: Break 9:50 AM - 10:15 AM: Static Python: Types in Bytecode Compilation & Runtime 10:15 AM - 10:35 AM: PyType’s Approach to Large-Scale Type Checking 10:35 AM - 11:00 AM: Incremental Check in Pyre 11:00 AM - 11:10 AM: Break 11:10 AM - 11:35 AM: Scaling Typeshed to 1000 Packages 11:35 AM - 12:05 AM: Catching Tensor Shape Errors Using the Type Checker 12:05 AM - 12:30 PM: Type Arithmetic 12:30 PM - End All of the items on the agenda have time for both a presentation and an active discussion built in, so everyone will have a chance to ask questions and actively engage with the topic.
