Registration is currently open for the yt user/developer workshop, to be
held July 15-18, 2025 at University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, UK.
yt <https://yt-project.org/> is a community-driven Python package for
analyzing and visualizing astrophysical simulation data, supporting output
from nearly two dozen astro simulation codes and several more from other
domains (see list of supported formats below). This interactive workshop
welcomes researchers from all career stages to learn to use and modify yt
for sophisticated analysis of simulation and general spatial data.
The first two days will be devoted to tutorials starting from scratch and
working toward advanced usage, including parallel computing. Participants
are encouraged to bring ideas for challenging analyses they would like to
undertake or samples of data not yet supported by yt. There will be
opportunities to work with developers to add support for new data or
develop new features. The workshop will then transition to showcasing
packages extending or related to yt and learning how to modify the code and
contribute to the project. We will end with a day of breakout groups
working on coding projects of their choice. Participants will also have the
opportunity to give short presentations on relevant research or related
software packages.
Registration is free and can be done here

.
All experience levels, career stages, and areas of interest are welcome.
Registration will be limited to 35 people. The registration deadline is
June 2, 2025.
