Yes, they're in the dev docs, and you can see in the unstructured mesh section of loading data as well as the exodus ii frontend information. These have links to other sections like how to make plots which have more about the slicing and volume rendering of unstructured mesh.

Are there any publicly-available examples of the analysis and visualizations that come out of this work? I have a project brewing with an unstructured mesh code, and a few pretty pictures would go a long way toward convincing my collaborators to write a yt frontend for their code. :-)
