That was more or less my thinking.  When the API is more or less frozen in IPython 3, I'll start working with that.

I had some very rudimentary widgets from the hackathon in March, but they were a bit on the underdeveloped side.  I believe the widget support in iPython at the time was still a bit of a moving target.  I'll dig up the notebook and see if what I wrote still worked.  I might spend a few hours beating it into something usable.
