I did:
git fetch upstream
git checkout main
git branch -D master
(upstream is my remote for git@github.com:yt-project/yt, so you'll need to
change it to whatever you call your remote)

Good question! All pull requests have been automatically updated. I think it's as simple as checking out your old master branch, pulling main, and then checking out main.

It's just the name -- instead of it being called "master" it will be called "main." (In hg, the default branch was usually called "default.") Newly created repositories at github utilize "main."
