Hi guys, HOP padding is set to 0.2 for parallel. Is this right? I thought it was supposed to be 0.02. Maybe this is part of why we have been having problems with parallel HOP and memory usage lately ... ? -Matt
Holy heck, yes. That's WAY too big, and certainly explains the problems that Michele Trenti is having, for example. A more reasonable default would be 5% of the box, if not smaller. Or, really, the box-size specific scaling we talked about a while back based on press-schechter calculations. Did I ever send you that code? B

Nope, the code never made its way over. I'll fix 0.2 -> 0.02, which I think was whati t was set to previously. I probably messed it up when creating HaloFinder.py. I haven't changed the linking length for FOF. Stephen, feel free to go ahead and fix that if you think it is wrong. :) -Matt On Wed, Jun 10, 2009 at 5:09 AM, Brian O'Shea<bwoshea@gmail.com> wrote:

It's defaulted to 0.2, which seems to be the status quo on FOF linking length. _______________________________________________________ sskory@physics.ucsd.edu o__ Stephen Skory http://physics.ucsd.edu/~sskory/ _.>/ _Graduate Student ________________________________(_)_\(_)_______________
