Has anyone had this problem with install of mpi4py on linux? This is on ubuntu. I have tried everything I can think of but it still fails every time I run it: from mpi4py import MPI ImportError: /home/hallman/yt/yt-unknown/lib/python2.6/site-packages/ mpi4py/MPI.so: undefined symbol: lt_dlexit I reinstalled openmpi, mpi4py several times each with different library linkages, it always fails like this. Thanks for any help... Eric Hallman Google Voice: (774) 469-0278 hallman13@gmail.com
Hi Eric, This looks like the OpenMPI 1.3 problem: http://groups.google.com/group/mpi4py/browse_thread/thread/2e08c06f271c3069/... I think you should be able to run "easy_install cython" to get 0.12, and then the rest should just be what Lisandro says in the email reply -- just rebuilding from source with OpenMPI. -Matt On Tue, Feb 16, 2010 at 10:16 AM, Eric Hallman <hallman13@gmail.com> wrote:

Matt, you're the man. Thanks for finding that. Somehow it didn't come up when I looked around. later On Feb 16, 2010, at 1:21 PM, Matthew Turk wrote:
