I think the most straightforward thing to do would be to alter the install script to install Matt's fork of rockstar.
I don't think many people are using the install script with 3.0 so any help maintaining it would certainly be appreciated.

It looks like an API compatibility issue with the version of rockstar bundled with the yt-3.0 install script. I seem to remember that yt-3.0 needs a different special version of rockstar to work - someone else would likely know more.
