Unless I'm mistaken, I think what he's getting at is that in whatever version he's running, camera doesn't take the "volume" keyword argument. Which version of yt are you running? If you installed using the install script, the output of 'yt instinfo' run on the command line should be suffieicebt to figure out exactly which version you are using.
You may have to directly import AMRKDTree from yt.visualization.volume_rendering.api, although I believe it is still imported into yt.mods in the current stable release of yt.
