Excellent question!  I think the best way to do this without altering the source code would be to create a filter that checks for the existence of the profile file before trying to load them.  Below is an example of one I coded up using the same logic for setting the filenames at the profile callback.

If you add this to your script and either add the filter after you do the profiling or before you load the profiles, this may do it.  Let us know if you have any more questions.
