Not a dumb question at all! This version is indeed the "demeshed" version,
and should behave that way by default.

This may be a dumb question, but I recall there being a "regular" version of yt, and a "demeshed" version in developement. I have been using the demeshed version for particle data-- does the newest version (4.0.5) have the demeshed part included/is there anything special I need to do to implement that methodology?
