Dear all, Did anyone calculate and plot the toomre criterion of a disk from an enzo dataset? Any tips on how to do that? Best, Cynthia
Hi Cynthia, I know some folks have done this, but I personally have not, or if I have, it's been long enough that I'd have to re-learn the process. A good place to start would be with a projection of the disk (to get column density) and then applying the various cylindrical velocity fields to compute the epicyclic frequency. The necessary fields -- given a definition of Q that makes sense for your particular setup -- should be in place in yt as default plugins.
