Hi folks, I'm working on installing yt and enzo on a new (to me) cluster, which is an IBM Power6 running AIX. It's having major issues with installing stuff, from basic things like the tar command not having a -z option, to significant issues actually compiling things. I'm still workign through things, but figured I'd ask if anyone has compiled yt and enzo on an AIX machine before? If not, I'll try to submit the final install script that works, along with details of how I've had to modify various makefiles. Thanks, Andrew ************************************************************* ** Dr. Andrew J. Hi Andrew, It's been a long time since most of the yt users I know have been coerced into using AIX. I manually managed an installation on DataStar for about a year, but then that machine was mothballed. My suggestion is that you forego the install script and get in touch with the consultants on the machine; they probably have a Python2.7 installation somewhere you can use. I recommend then that you identify which packages it already has, and of the following list install only those that it doesn't: * h5py * numpy * matplotlib I don't think we have any other hard dependencies. Install these into your local space with the option --user to setup.py install. Good luck. -Matt On Thu, Feb 2, 2012 at 10:12 AM, Andrew Davis <adavis@mpe.mpg.de> wrote:
