incorrect attachment url in virtual host environment

Hello, I have one mailman server serving few virtual domains lists. Each domains has its own virtual web interface through "lists.domainname" Everything seems to work ok besides the archives. If there is a message with an attachment, the attachment url is being set to DEFAULT_URL_HOST instead of the 'lists.domainname". example : domain: domainname.com list : testlist listinfo url : http://lists.domainname.com/mailman/listinfo/testlist OK archive url : http://lists.domainname.com/pipermail/testlist/ OK message in the archive : http://lists.domainname.com/pipermail/testlist/2003-April/000006.html OK attachment url : http://MAINDOMAIN/pipermail/testlist/attachments/20030417/e9340378/attachme… NOT OK the attachment url is not being set properly. Is there anyway to configure mm_cfg.py so when the archive is created the attachment url will be also set to the virtual domain. Thanks

Scrubber question

I'm currently using Mailman 2.1.4 with Postfix on a Red Hat Enterprise Ver3 workstation. I installed the scrubber patch[904850], to use it to save attachments to be viewed in the archives, and this leads me to my question. How would I be able to have mailman remove attachments being sent to the mailing lists to subscribers personal emails, but still have scrubber save it as an attachment link in the archives. I know you can use content filters to remove attachments, but when this happens, the scrubber patch doesn't save them in the archive area. I tried changing the GLOBAL PIPELINE by putting "Scrubber" as the first handler to be used, but the content filter options must be looked at first, before scrubber can put the attachment in the archives, because I'm having the content filter strip out any image attachments, but I would like this image attachments to be viewable in the archives. Basically, I want the email messages to be stripped from attachments, (because of size reasons), but have the attachments still be viewable in the archives, using scrubber. Is this possible? Double attachments

Hi again Mailman-users! I was wondering why attachments in archive take space more than mbox-file. replace attachment with text

I am running a Mailman 2.1.7 mailing list and stripping attachments using the default content type and filename extension settings (the only change I made from default was to set 'Should Mailman filter...' to Yes). Is it possible for me to replace attachments with a simple message stating that the attachment was stripped? I am trying to avoid the situation where a user sends a message with an attachment, the attachment is stripped and the remaining text is posted, and the sender thinks they forgot to include the attachment and so they post again (and again...) trying to make their attachment get through. I think Mac Mail is doing this, not Mailman. If in Mac Mail you select edit->attachments->Always Send Windows Friendly Attachments or simple be sure the "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" check box is checked in the file attach dialog when you attach the file, I think you won't have this problem. The non-plain text attachment is removed and stored in the list's archive and is replaced with the 'scrubbed' notice and a link to the stored attachment. There are multiple possibilities as to why the link doesn't open the attachment. The archives may be private in which case the link goes to a login page and the user can't get the attachment without logging in, or the user's browser doesn't know how to open the file type. Mail content arriving as attachments

We use Mailman 2.1.14 to send mail to a list of about 90 subscribers. There is an exchange server sitting between us and the outside world. The mail is arriving in various formats to different mail-clients e.g. an email with content in the body, including one image, only arrives back to us (Outlook 2003) as an email with a header in the body plus two text attachments (one with a footer and the other with the email body content) plus one html attachment (with image and email body content). Sometimes the email arrives back to us with the email content in the body of the email and not converted to attachments. If there are attachments sent these seem to stay as attachments wherever they go. To a person external to us the content arrives as we would want it i.e. in the body of the email. To another person external to us using a Mac (Safari?) it arrives with the content in the email but includes a header and footer. We'd like the emails to arrive as they are sent i.e. with the content in the body, and not as attachments. What settings do I need to adjust to achieve this? A non-text attachment was scrubbed... -- URL break

I've looked at the Whole Mailman FAQ and looked at archived message threads back 5-6 months and have not see a discussion or resolution on the problem I'm seeing with URL line breaks in my list archived messages. Basically if I set Non-digest options/"Scrub attachments of regular delivery message?" to No my archived messages, scrubber adds the non-test attachment was scrubbed URL, URL's are ok full line and clickable. Messages from the list have the attachment and life is good. The first example below. If I set Non-digest options/"Scrub attachments of regular delivery message?" to Yes my archived messages URL's have an extra = in the URL string at the end of line one and a line break making the URL 2 lines and non-clickable. The second example. If your content filtering rules (or lack thereof) allow photo attachments, and the regular list members receive them, then those who subscribe to the digest in MIME form will receive the same messages in their digest that the regular members receive, and those who subscribe in plain text form will see messages in their digests which have the non-plain text attachments removed and replaced by hyperlinks to the attachment stored in the archive. This latter process is referred to in Mailman as scrubbing and occurs whether or not the list is archiving posts.
