Summary

Promoting diversity in the Python community

The goal of this list is to move the Python community in the direction of dreamwidth.org's Diversity Statement, partially reproduced here:

We welcome people of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, ability level, neurotype, religion, elder status, family structure, culture, subculture, political opinion, identity, and self-identification.

Beginner questions about sexism, racism, and so on are welcome on this list, though extended discussion should either be relevant to the Python community or moved to other forums.

In any given discussion, you may not be aware that you are asking beginner questions. Beginner questions or concerns do not always have short answers, and often the answers already exist elsewhere. If you are asked to do some reading or take your questions to a different forum, please respect this.

Personal attacks of any kind are not tolerated on this list. If you have a problem with someone on the list, please raise the issue off-list with the list admins (diversity-private-owner@python.org).
