Hi yt-users, I am putting yt on a new machine, and it looks like I will have to use the all-in-one script. I would like to install yt-dev. To do that, what do I need to rename the BRANCH= to? Thanks! Set 'INST_YT_SOURCE=1' and 'BRANCH="master"' (it should say BRANCH="master"
right now).

Thanks! Yes, master was set, and I just had to change INST_YT_SOURCE=1 So first, after I tried to move the file over using curl, I didn't just get the file, I got a directory called yt--which I thought was not supposed to happen until I ran
bash install_script.sh
? I have copied install_script.sh back up into my home directory from ~/yt/docs/ and attempted to run it with
bash install_script.sh
It seems I need to unset my PYTHONPATH for the installation. Can you
either tell me how to do that or direct me to where I can find out?
googling does not seem to be getting me where I need to go for this one...

Ah yeah, you want to use "curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yt-project/yt/master/doc/install_script.sh" or "wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yt-project/yt/master/doc/install_script.sh ".
bash install_script.sh
?

something like: $ PYTHONPATH= bash install_script.sh If you're using tcsh, I *think* the syntax is "unsetenv PYTHONPATH". Note also that if this is a cluster with a module system, make sure any modules that provide a python installation are not loaded.
