I've just skimmed through Jeff Rush's weblog entry about O'Reilly
and the PSF:
http://python-advocacy.blogspot.com/2006/11/oreilly-seeking-ideas-on-partnering.html
Although I've not read it properly, the subject reminded me of another
possibly overlapping project being coordinated by the Open Source Development
Lab (OSDL):

There's also some related material on this page:
http://developer.osdl.org/dev/desktop_architects/index.php/Key_Topics#Documentation_Framework
It might be worth "partnering" with these people as well, or at least to
make each group aware of the other, share ideas, learn from each other's
mistakes, and so on.
