Yes. The shadow there looks horrible.

See the attached PDF, exported directly from Inkscape. The shadow
reproduces correctly for me.

If the shadow cannot be reproduced correctly, it would be better to
remove it altogether. The attached python-banner-noshadow.pdf file
omits the shadow.
