Wayne, you can find SExtractor here:
http://www.astromatic.net/software/sextractor
It's primarily geared towards finding astronomical on FITS - standard
images. NB that some searches will point you to terapix's website, this will
just take you on to astromatic.
I don't think there is a windows version, but I may be wrong.
