I would vote for (2). Perhaps a doodle poll would help here.

If there was any interest to make these workshops a bi-annual thing
(and I would strongly support it), I would be happy to organize and
host a workshop here at Villanova. We have conference/telecon/webcast
infrastructure available at the university.
