Partially as a result of nudging from Anand Balachandran Pillai for the needs
of PyCon India, there are now two new mailing lists on python.org:
(1) The conferences at python.org mailing list is for open discussion of
issues related to Python conferences. All conferences are welcome:
established and planned, worldwide. The archive is open to all.
Subscribe here: http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/conferences
The charter of this list is for the organizers of the various conferences
world-wide -- regional as well as national, to come together to share ideas
and discuss how they run their conferences. It's not for the detailed
planning of a specific conference. For those motivated to be an organizer, it
will be a good place to get peer support.
(2) The list specific to detailed planning of PyCon India:

And totally unrelated to the other two, there is also a new list for
discussing concurrency and Python; threads, processes and more.
